Product information "Le Chameau Men's Chasseur Leather Lined Wellington Vert Vierzon"

The iconic Chasseur, a handcrafted premium leather lined zip boot, is instantly recognisable. Specially designed to fit women's feet and legs. Kevlar reinforcement to the front for extra protection against abrasion, waterproof Riri Aquazip and adjustable strap for fastening. Premium leather lining with leather insole and shock-absorbing, insulating, all-terrain outsole sole with reinforced shank for better arch support.

"Flat, up front, no quibbling: This is the best rubber boot in the world." Gray's Sporting Journal.

ANTI-FATIGUE TECHNOLOGY

The dual-density Cross sole absorbs shock and features a shank reinforcement board for better stability and anti-fatigue arch support. The quick-drying removable leather insoles cushion the foot and provides additional insulation.

BESPOKE COMFORT

Were proud to offer the legendary Chasseur boot.  We use the finest full-grain leather for the lining providing all-year round comfort and durability. The watertight heavy-duty zip with press stud tightening strap makes Chasseur easy to put on and take off.

HERITAGE MEETS INNOVATION

DuPont™ Kevlar® fibers are used in the natural rubber mix to reinforce the forefoot areas, improving tear and abrasion resistance and performance in harsh terrain. The abrasion-resistant Cross outsole offers sure-footed traction on uneven, slippery, muddy and soft terrain.

PREMIUM LEATHER

Le Chameau is renowned for the quality and durability of our leather lined boots. The leather we use in our linings is a thick and supple full-grain calf leather supplied only by French and Italian tanneries. It encloses the foot completely for superior comfort. A leather-lined boot is tough, hardwearing and easy to put on. Treated to resist dampness, leather remains supple even in contact with water. Choose leather for luxurious year round comfort.

THE STORY

In 1970 Le Chameau introduced a boot that was to become a legend in the field. Created by Le Chameau master of design Marc Longuet with the “hunter'' in mind, our iconic Chasseur boot was the first rubber boot to have a waterproof full length zip. Hand crafted exclusively, by one single master boot maker, after a long and rigorous apprenticeship, each Chasseur boot is a unique creation, made with precision, craftsmanship and assembly techniques handed down from generation to generation.

Le Chameau

Master bootmakers since 1927

In 1927, in a seaside village in Normandy France, Claude Chamot had a desire to create the most comfortable and best fitting rubber boot. He had listened to farmers, hunters and fishermen who all wanted a boot that would withstand their daily labours. Now, almost 100 years later, Monsieur Chamot’s vision continues. From first, to the last touch, there is history in the making of every pair of Le Chameau.

Read on for the fascinating journey of your Le Chameau boot.

The Le Chameau Rubber Like any natural product, the quality of rubber is determined by how it is produced. Our rubber is sourced from Vietnam, where we have been working with the same highly regarded plantation since 2005. A number of factors determine the quality of the rubber, including season (spring rubber is best), climate purity, and tree quality.

To produce the rubber, each Pará rubber tree is “tapped”, producing raw latex, a milky white substance. Properly harvested, this can be done without harming the trees. The liquid latex is allowed to coagulate and can then be collected and processed into its dry form which is packed into loaves. The loaves are graded from A to D – the grading determined by colour, purity and stickiness. Le Chameau uses only Grade A rubber, which is light coloured and has low ash and dirt content. These loaves of raw Grade A rubber are then shipped to our workshop.
