The Neue Schule Tranz Lozenge Full Cheek Bit is excellent for directional control and tight turns during faster work as the mouthpiece will not slide across the mouth when turning. It is also safer for young horses as it should not pull through the mouth in a panic situation.
The Neue Schule full cheeks prevent the mouthpiece from sliding across the horse's mouth creating more stability in the contact therefore making this bit ideal where precise steering is required. The full cheeks reinforce the turning aid, reduce friction and also lessen the chance of rubbing. This also makes it beneficial for children or novice riders who may not be sufficiently experienced in supporting their inside rein.
The Neue Schule Tranz Angled Lozenge is uniquely aligned at 20° to the bore axes of the cheeks. When a contact is taken, the smoothly profiled lozenge and loops press gently down onto the centre of the tongue (the 'sweet spot'), subsequently achieving a higher level of communication through the rein. More pressure down the rein further relieves the sensitive side areas of the tongue, bringing the thicker, less pressure-sensitive area into play.
The upper cheeks may be fixed to the cheek pieces with Fulmer Loops in order to further stabilise the mouthpiece.
